Project Summary:

In partnership with Action Aid Nepal, Integrated Community Development Campaign (ICDC) Nepal has been running a local rights program in Thakre Rural Municipality since October 2022. Currently, the program conducted from Ward No. 1 to 8 of Thakre Palkia mainly has 3 objectives. Promoting the rights and opportunities of women, poor and small farmers through a strong governance system and economic activities, harnessing their power to advance the issues of gender and climate justice under the leadership of women and youth through campaigns and proactive actions, and improving quality education by promoting the rights of school education. Community income generation, social justice, climate justice and youth mobilization in disaster management, improving the quality of public education are the thematic areas of this program.

Objectives:

Objective-1: Advance the rights and opportunities of women, informal labors and gig workers through improved governance systems and economic activities

Objectives-2: Strengthening education governance to promote child rights and quality learning outcome in public schools.

Objective-3: Build resilience of vulnerable communities by advancing the agenda of climate justices, green livelihood and enhanced response system
