Project Summary:

The project objective is the children from 4 villages of the Rural Municipality of Jwalamukhi grow up in a safe and supportive environment. The project follows an integrated approach of the three components community development and disaster preparedness; health, water and hygiene as well as education. Thus, the project contributes to the overall objective of creating an environment in the Rural Municipality of Jwalamukhi where the rights of children to health, education and participation are preserved.

Result 1.Community development and disaster preparedness

• First Aid training in schools

 Result 2.Health, water and hygiene

• Construction and equipment of a birthing center
• Drinking water supply for 2 schools
• Construction of toilets in 4 education institutions
• Implementation of health camps for children
• Promotion of menstrual hygiene

 Result 3. Education

• Construction of a new school building
• Establishment of playground facilities in 4 schools
• Provision of school material for needy children
• Equipment of ECD classes
• Provision of technical aids for 13 children with disabilities
• Establishment and strengthening of 4 child clubs
• Support for adolescent girls
